Mince Meat Bread

Preheat oven to 325-350°F
1 c. mince meat as ready for pie
1 c. milk
1/2 cube margarine or shortening to equal

Scald milk, add margarine and add to mince meat. Cool to lukewarm.

Dissolve:
2 Tbsp. dry yeast
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 C. lukewarm water

When cool add:
1 beaten egg
3 1/2 c. flour or to make a medium stiff dough
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. washed raisins or currants

Use enough more flour to knead smooth.

Oil bowl well turn dough, cover and let rise ‘til double. Knead down, oil bowl well and let rise again. Shape in two round loaves. Let rise to double and bake approx. 50 min.

Grease top with butter or margarine while hot.
