The Seely family  homesteaded on the shores of the lake which now bears their name—Seeley Lake-in the late 1800s. (Yes, the word gained an extra “e” over the years.)

Mildred also tells the tales gathered from the homesteaders who followed in the Seely family's tracks, to the Missoula, Blackfoot, Seeley, Swan and neighboring valleys.
