Puddings and Sauces
Apple-Caramel Pudding

Set oven to 350°F.

Dough:
3/4 c. flour and 1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt and 1 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. melted shortening and 1/4 c. milk

Mix and press on bottom of 7 x 7 inch baking pan.

Filling:
3 c. peeled, diced apples
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. evaporated milk

Distribute apples over dough. Mix syrup, sugar and milk and pour over apples. Bake 35-40 minutes. Serve with hot brown sugar-brandy sauce, or thin cream.
