Busy Day Pickles

Wash 2 - 2 1/2 gal. cucumbers (smaller than dill size) and pack closely in a crock or large glass jars.

Mix cold:
1 gal. vinegar
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. salt (not iodized salt)
3/4 c. dry mustard
4 inch pieces horseradish (or more)

Pour vinegar mix over cucumbers. If a crock is used, put a plate on top and a weight, such as a plastic bag of water to hold plate and cucumbers down. Tie clean cloth over top. If using glass jars, put lids on loosely. No need to seal. Keep in relatively cool place. Ready in ten days.
