Christmas Breakfast Ring

Prepare Basic Sweet Roll Dough.

Spread dough with softened butter or margarine and sprinkle generously with brown sugar. Dot with washed raisins, if desired. Roll up and form a ring approximately 12 inches long and pinch edges and ends together in a greased pie plate, leaving center open with room for dough to rise and fill in.

With a sharp knife or scissors cut 2/3 through the roll, 3/4 inch apart. Arrange slices so each partly overlaps the last one. Let rise ‘til light.

Bake at 350-375°F for 25 minutes 'til medium brown. Drizzle icing over all bare edges and decorate with candied fruits and nut pieces. Serve warm from the oven or cover and reheat. Pull apart with two forks.
