Holiday Mincemeat Cookies

Set oven at 400°F.

Beat ‘til creamy:
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs. beaten

1 1/4 c. mincemeat (prepared packaged mincemeat will do)
3 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 of a 1 lb. pkg. candied fruit

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and. Add mincemeat, then dry ingredients, and lastly, one-half of candied fruit.

Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet, Bake for 12 minutes. Push pieces of remaining candied fruit into cookies for decorating while hot.
