Homemade Chopping Device

One tall evaporated milk can. Remove label and heat bottom of can on medium hot burner. Hold can firmly with a pot holder and strike it sharply with a solid tableknife handle, or other such object where the bottom fits over the edge. Two or three strikes should knock the bottom off. You may need to heat again.

I have had mine for umpteen years. It cuts cookies, Parkerhouse rolls, chops cabbage, onions, nuts, etc. When it gets dull (seldom) I run a round file around the inside cutting edge a few times.

The easiest to clean, least expensive and most usable kitchen aid that I own.
