Hot Macaroni Salad

Part One:
Make a dressing of 1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 tsp. prepared mustard
3 Tbsp. evaporated milk
Dash of garlic salt and few drops tabasco sauce.
Set aside.

Part Two:
Roll 8 soda crackers and stir crumbs into fry pan with a small lump of melted butter or margarine. When all butter is absorbed add 1/2 tsp. paprika. Stir 'til lightly browned. Put in a sauce dish and set aside.

Part Three:
Wipe fry pan with paper towel and fry 4 to 5 slices bacon. Remove to a plate and pour off nearly all grease. (Save if you use it for frying.)
In the same pan saute 'til tender crisp:
3 Tbsp. minced onion
3 Tbsp. diced celery
1 8 oz. can water chestnuts, and keep all hot.

Part Four:
Cook 1/2 c. salad macaroni in 3 to 4 c. boiling, lightly salted water 'til tender.

Part Five:
Drain macaroni, rinse in very hot water and keep hot. Crumble bacon and add to vegetables. Stir in macaroni and lightly mix in dressing. Turn into a hot shallow dish and top with paprika crumbs. Serve immediately. Shrimp or diced, cooked ham may be used instead of bacon.
