Cakes Plus
One Egg Cake

Set oven at 350°F.

Cream together:
1 1/8 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 large egg
Stir in 2 Tbsp. cake flour
Add 3/4 c. .milk
2 c. sifted cake flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 (scant) tsp. salt

Beat ‘til blended and add:
1/3 c. ice water

Bake in two layers 20-25 minutes.
