Pie Crust Suitable for the Low Cholesterol Diet

2 1/4 c. flour (before sifting)
1 1/2 cubes (3/4 c.) solid type corn oil margarine
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. cold water

Mix flour, salt and baking powder and rub in shortening between palms of hands ‘til it becomes coarse and grainy. Drizzle water over evenly, and tumble with a mixing spoon just ‘til water is absorbed. Roll around in the bowl ‘til it all sticks together, and none sticks to the bowl.

Roll pie crust very thin—cuts cost, cuts calories and makes a tastier pie. Makes two thin-crust pies…using 9 inch pie plates.
