My Forty Years Scribblin's
Introduction
Foreword

Looking over this collection, it appears that I've done a lot of living. Nothing earth-shaking—just happenings that came along to claim my time.

The good Lord has given me a lot of years and a full measure of memories. My family seems to think they are worth preserving. I am happy to have lived when I could watch the world's greatest changes, and I hope that I have given back a little something in exchange for the blessings bestowed on me. Few of us are able to do everything that we want, but my philosophy, simply put, is "Do what you can with what you have."
